P4 Dokumentär
Carrie Nygren is discovered by a modeling agency in Stockholm in 1971 at the age of 16, shortly after recovering from a severe depression and significant weight loss. She signs a contract with a Paris agency, packs her bags, and sets off alone. Feeling lonely and homesick, she runs away in the middle of a job for Vogue France. Back home, her surprised parents encourage her to return, and she resumes her modeling career, primarily in New York. In the 70s and 80s, she becomes one of the most famous supermodels, alongside stars like Iman and Linda Evangelista, gracing covers of Vogue and Elle. Carrie also begins an acting career while living a jet-set lifestyle, often visiting Studio 54, where she mingles with celebrities like John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Iggy Pop, and Andy Warhol. As her career skyrockets, everything eventually collapses, and she believes she is on the verge of death.
